Astrology Calendar 2009
Published: 30th November 2008

This Astrology Calendar has been produced exclusively for this site and is available as a free gift. Similar calendars have been produced and made available on this website since 2006, however this new format offers new possibilities.

The astrology calendar for 2009 is downloadable in the standard 'icalendar' format (sometimes known as 'ical' - recognisable by its '.ics' file extension) so that it can be used in calendar software such as Mozilla Sunbird or Mozilla Lightning, Rainlender, Apple's iCal, or in browser add-ons such as 'ReminderFox' for Firefox, or indeed any online calendar service that supports the icalendar format.

The main benefits of the calendar being able to be downloaded are:-

1. The calendar is then
searchable allowing you to find, for instance, all the retrograde start dates of all the planets, or all the Full Moons, or all the calendar entries for a particular planet such as 'Mercury'.

2. The dates and times should automatically convert to the time zone settings of your application/applet, making this calendar global rather than just GMT-based.

3. You can integrate it with existing calendars and have everything all in one place.

4. You can set up reminders and alarms (if your software allows it - those mentioned above do).

The calendar contains:-

  • Zodiac Sign changes: Dates and times when the Sun, Moon and planets, plus Chiron and the Moon's North node, change Zodiac Signs
  • Aspects: Dates, times and Zodiac positions (Sign, degree and minute) of major and some minor aspects between the planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, Pluto, and also Chiron
  • Lunar phases: Dates and times of every New Moon, First Quarter, Full Moon, Last Quarter, with Zodiac positions (Sign, degree and minute) of the New and Full Moons
  • Eclipses: Dates and degrees of the eclipses, with a link to a web page containing visibility information, plus diagrams and animations
  • Retrogrades: Dates, times and Zodiac positions (Sign, degree and minute) when the planets are stationary retrograde and stationary direct
  • Configurations: Dates when planets form aspect configurations such as T-squares and Yods, including which planets are involved
  • Moon cycles: Dates of the Moon's perigee (nearest to Earth) and apogee (furthest away from Earth), and its maximum declination north (higher in the sky for those in the northern hemisphere, lower for those in the southern) and south (the reverse)
  • Astronomical information: To help with observing the planets with the naked eye, Mercury and Venus greatest eastern and western elongations (evening and morning stars, respectively), and oppositions of Mars, Jupiter and Saturn
The calendar is distributed as a free gift but a lot of hard work has gone into creating it and so terms and conditions do apply: you must not pass this calendar off as your own or anyone else's in any way, shape, or form; you must not sell it on; you must not create derivative works from it; it is for your own personal use only; you may merge it with any existing calendars in your calendar software applications or add-ons.

If you agree to those terms, you're welcome to proceed to the calendar page to view and/or download it.
